How to Care for Thin, Fine Hair

Calling all fine hair girls!

I know you know the struggle of keeping your finer hair looking healthy and strong. Sure, your hair is super silky and soft, but it's also super delicate and prone to breakage. We've compiled a list of things you can do to keep your hair looking its best.

#1- Avoid heat styling. We all know hair doesn't *love* you using your blowdryer on maximum heat. She's a sensitive girlie. And your hair is even more susceptible to damage when it's wet. If you are going to be using your blowdryer, allow your hair to air dry 75% first.

#2- Lay off the shampoo. Overusing shampoo and hair products can make your hair dry and brittle. Instead, aim to wash your hair only 1-2 times per week. That way the natural oils of your hair get a chance to provide their nourishing powers.

#3- Swap to silk. Using a silk pillowcase rather than a cotton or linen pillowcase is super beneficial for your hair. Your hair will be much less prone to tangling. Silk pillowcases are less prone to bacteria build-up which can be harmful to your hair.

#4- Try scalp oils. Finer hair loves a little extra loving. Using scalp oils is a great way to give it some extra moisture and nourishment. Opt for natural oils such as argan, sunflower, shea, or almond.

#5- Regular haircuts. Although the wive's tale that cutting your hair will make it grow quicker is a total myth, you should still make regular appointments with your hairdresser. Getting frequent trims helps to prevent split ends. Split ends weigh down your hair and reduce the volume. Try to see your hairdresser every 6-8 weeks.
